Concrete Floor Paint vs Epoxy Coating: Why Paint Falls Short
Thinking about painting your concrete floor? Before you grab that bucket of paint, understand why professional coatings outlast paint by 10-15 years and provide far better protection.

Polyaspartics cure in 1–4 hours instead of 1–3 days, hold up better under UV, and stay flexible enough to move with the slab. For garages, driveways, and anywhere sunlight reaches, they're the better system. Epoxy still wins on price for indoor floors that never see sun.
For polyaspartic systems: walk-ready next day, drive-ready in 2–3 days, fully cured in about a week. Epoxy systems run roughly twice as long. We'll give you exact hold times before we start.
Polyaspartics install reliably down to about 20°F (-6°C), which means we can keep working through most of the Colorado winter. Epoxy needs warmer conditions, usually 50°F+ slab temp.
Concrete is our bread and butter, but our systems bond well to wood, metal, and previously-coated surfaces with the right prep. We grind to a CSP-3 profile on concrete and prime accordingly for other substrates.
Mild soap and water with a soft mop or pressure wash for exterior installs. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents. That's it, no annual reseal, no buffing.
Manufacturer warranties on our polyaspartic systems run 10–15 years against delamination, yellowing, and major adhesion failure. We back our labor with our own written warranty on top.
Same prep as any epoxy: diamond grind, repair, prime. Then we lay a pigmented base coat and broadcast metallic pigments into a clear resin pour. Each floor is hand-worked, no two come out identical. Sealed with a UV-stable topcoat.
For garages, yes, we need a clear slab. For interior installs we move what we can and dust-protect the rest. We'll walk through this on the estimate so there are no surprises.
